Paolo Ulian was born in Massa, Tuscany, in 1961. He graduated in Industrial Design at the ISIA of Florence in 1990. He won the international “Design for Europe” prize at the “Interieur90” exhibition in Kortrijk, Belgium.
From 1990 to 1992, he worked as an assistant at Enzo Mari’s studio in Milan. In 2000, he participated in the “Salone Satellite” in Milan, where he won first prize in the “Design Report Award” sponsored by the German magazine “Design Report”. Also in 2000, he participated in the Biennale in Saint Etienne in France.
Since 2002, he has been involved in the exhibitions of Droog Design set up during the “Salone del Mobile” in Milan. In the same year, he won first prize in the “Dedalus/Abet Laminati European Award” in Italy. Since 1993, Paolo Ulian’s projects have been displayed in numerous group exhibitions in Italy and abroad, and he has worked with a wide range of companies: Driade, Indarte, View, Sensi&C., Progetti, Fontana Arte, Seccose, Luminara, BBB Emmebonacina, Zani&Zani, Droog Design, Ceramiche Ragno, AZZURRA ceramica.
